Who is this post for?

If you use a WordPress website (and you should) you want to convert more visitors into sales right?

These plugins will help turn your WordPress site into a system that delivers sales.  All the plugins are easy to set up.  Some might be paid, or premium.

But by the end of this post I PROMISE, that you’ll have a a series of plugins that make your site work harder and generate more sales.

Objective

The key to great, consistent sales, is process.

The process that works for businesses all over the world is

Lead gen >> nurture >> qualify >> sale>> profit maximiser.

Go ahead, check it out.  We’re also giving away a FREE copy of our EPIC, groundbreaking marketing plan, designed JUST FOR digital creatives.

1.  Lead generation – Dreamgrow scroll triggered box

Lead generation is the act of turning people that don’t know you exist, into someone who is interested in what you’re saying.  That’s all.  Make someone interested in what you’re yappin’ about.

Easy right?  The fastest way to generate leads is with catchy CTA’s or calls to action.  A call to action is basically a direction for a user, customer, visitor etc.  A direction towards something like, giving an email address, downloading an e-book.  Something that benefits BOTH parties.

Dreamgrow scroll triggered box lets you create smart little popups.  They only activate when a user scrolls down your page.  They’re unobtrusive and can be coded or use a template.

It’s a totally FREE plugin.  You’d be mad to ignore this one.  All you have to do is create a GREAT reason for someone to follow your direction.

For example, leads can be an email address.  You want that email address.

Why do I want more email addresses?

You want more email addresses to send great trust building emails to your leads.  These are opportunities to find new customers.  Not to sell, but to find people that you want to work with.

You need to open up a dialogue.  Ask questions and solve a problem for people.  Then they become customers.

To get this email address, create a ‘lead magnet’.  Something valuable that makes people happy to submit a small piece of data (like an email address).  It could be an ebook, a cheat sheet, a free report.  Loads of ideas.

Set up Calls to action by InboundNow and start seeing more people giving you their email address.  Then thank me when your email list grows.

2. Nurture – WP Live chat by WP-live chat

The nurture stage of any sales/marketing process is tricky.  The idea is to allow your lead to trust you and follow you.  But this may have to be at their own pace.

There are tons of methods available.  Email marketing.  Social media interaction.  Drip-fed content.  But a great way, which is super fast, is Live Chat.

We’ve all seen the little chat consoles that pop up on websites.  I can remember when MSN messenger was a big deal, now websites have the built into their functions.

With a convincing welcome message, visitors to your site are more likely to interact with you.  They’ll ask questions and talk to you, live.  It is a marketers dream.  You can find out what they want.  What their problems are and what they want to solve.

Take it easy though, remember that we’re nurturing them,  We’re not selling or qualifying just.

So how does live chat help me?

If you can talk to a customer, ask them what they’re problems are AND suggest next steps.  Doesn’t that sound brilliant?  Live chat can help you deliver trust and make you seem like a real person.

If you don’t know WPEngine.com, they’re a hosting company just for WordPress.  Their live chat platform is a perfect example of businesses can use live chat properly.

3. Qualify – Gravity forms by  Rocketgenius Inc.

Easily the greatest plugin I’ve ever paid for.  Gravity forms is a staple of WordPress businesses around the world.

You wouldn’t have thought that a form building plugin could be this awesome, but it is.

The idea is to qualify your leads.  You need to ask them the right questions.  Ultimately, is this a business or customer that you want to work with?

We can’t go into a full on qualification post here.  But basically ask them BANTS.  Budget, authority (decision maker), need, timescale and suppliers.

If you ask them ‘what’s their budget?’ and ‘what’s the need?’ you instantly get a better idea of who to work for.

We’ve talked about the budget question here, if you want more clarity.

Now here’s the part where you are seen as a super hero.  If you use Gravity forms to create a qualification form, on your website.  You can then direct leads to that form (i.e. devondigitaldesign.com/project)

Once that’s all set up, customers and leads can enter their information and you look like a slick professional company.  Magic.

4. Sale – WooCommerce by WooThemes

If you’re using WordPress and you haven’t heard of WooCommerce, this might just change your business.

WooCommerce is a TOTALLY FREE e-commerce plugin that helps you create a store, shop pages, product pages and payment gateway.  All on your site.  All for free.

They have TONS of plugins, and WooCommerce is way to big to go into detail here.  In fact it’s almost like a whole product on top of WordPress.  Because it’s so big, businesses have even specialised in just developing and building WooCommerce sites.

Download a copy and read a bit about how to use it.  Install it and get used to how it all looks and feels.  If you super awesome at WooCommrce, you could even start packaging E-commerce site builds for people.

5. Profit maximiser – Wishlish membership by Wishlist member

The key to sustainable and reliable profit, is regular income.  The easiest way to do this is with a profit maximiser.  A PM is a system where your core product makes them very happy.  After that, you’re in a position to offer more value.

After all, their last product from you gave them value.  It either increased sales, delivered a return or helped them solve a problem.  So they already love you.

Now we can offer added value services.  For a regular price, each month.

Again, this is way to big to go into here, but if you have a look around you can see how other people are making money with membership sites.  It doesn’t even have to be a secured content site, it could just be a few videos on how to use Google analytics and how to write a blog post.  But you also provide hosting, maintenance, backups and consultation.

Perhaps a regular Skype call to consult and hold them accountable?  Whatever you do, make sure it adds value.  It makes people feel part of a club.  Look at loyalty cards, they’re the exact same principle.
