I’m going to show you how to get more of ANYTHING you need and want for your business. Including sales, money, traffic, subscribers and leads.
If you want to sell more marketing funnels, then I’m good help you do that in this post.
If you want more [blank], then you must help people find that same [blank]. No, that title isn’t a copy and paste where I forgot to change the words.
For example if you want more sales, then you must help other people find more sales. If you want more traffic you must help other people find more traffic.
Whatever it is that you want more of for your business, should be what you help other businesses find. This might sound overly simple, but it works.
Money. Leads. Energy. Email subscribers. Traffic. Sales. Customers. The list of wants for your business is endless. You must make sure that you are helping other people find those same wants.
They don’t even necessarily have to be customers. They could be friends in your network, colleagues, business partners and peers. Joining groups on Facebook and LinkedIn can help us share what we know about finding what we want.
The basic premise is that whatever you focus on, will grow. Whatever you appreciate, appreciates.
Understand what you want
Think about what would make a difference to your life and your business. What kind of results are you looking to increase?
For example, for a long time I wanted a lot more traffic to my website. My optin conversions are pretty high, But I was struggling with attracting more traffic to my website.
Understanding that I wanted more traffic meant that very simply, I had to go and research more ways to find traffic. Paid Facebook ads, content marketing, organic social media and SEO were all options presented to me.
Start to measure what you don’t have
“What gets measured gets managed”
-Peter Drucker
Peter Drucker’s quote above is essentially a core philosophy behind what you focus on will grow. If you want to start increasing the number of email subscribers that you have on your list, you need to start measuring every day and every hour how many email subscribers you’ve collected.
Get ActiveCampaign, MailChimp, Convert Kit or whatever autoresponder and email list builder you use, to send you notifications about new subscribers.
At first, it’s not going to show anything right? Well that’s kind of the point for the first few days. The idea is that you need to put in place measurement systems for whatever it is you want to grow. Whatever you want to grow must be measured.
The beauty of this is that you can focus on one metric at a time. Don’t get bogged down in complexities of things like bounce rates and traffic sources. Focus on one measurement that you want increase. Make sure that you are being told about that measurement every single day.
Two things start to happen as soon as you do this. 1, you are informing the universe, world and everyone around you that this is an important metric to you. Which means that you are going to pay attention to it. This starts to inform everything around you and everything you do, to focus on growing this metric. You’re telling the universe that you’re ready to start receiving more of this result.
2, you are informing yourself that this is an important metric. You are your habits. If you consistently are reminded about an important metric, your habit becomes to improve or focus on that metric.
In surfing the key step for beginners to learn is that wherever your head is looking, your body will follow. It’s a similar principle to this. What ever we are going to focus on, our actions will follow.
Start to measure what you want to grow.
Discover who else wants that
Next we need to find a community and group of people, who also want to learn more and grow this particular number Or result.
With the rise of easily accessible and managed groups on Facebook, Reddit and LinkedIn. It’s easier than ever to find a community of people who are looking for the same thing as you.
Spend some time researching who else wants the results that you’re focusing on.
It could be a specific group JUST on that metric such as traffic, money or leads. Or it could be a group of related to your industry. For example the Sell Your Service Private Mastermind is an open Facebook group for funnel builders. We talk about money management, tools, selling funnels and building funnels. It’s free to join and open to all funnel builders here.
Simply by discovering a community of people, who value the same results you do, will do wonders for growing your results.
Learn what you want to grow
The next stage is remarkably simple. Either using Google or your newfound communities, ask about the resources people use to learn more about that result. Under absolutely no circumstances ever, can you begin to improve a metric or grow a result, without learning new skills and new ideas. It’s not enough just to work hard, and be busy every day.
We must as business owners and entrepreneurs continue our education, privately via YouTube, courses, blogs, webinars and group discussion.
Spend some time every week understanding and delving into the topic that you want to grow. This might mean that you need to spend money on a course, or coaching, or training, or books. But remember one of our first learning points, is that in order to grow one result we must use that same result. If you want more money you’re going to have to spend money on training.
There are some incredible free resources out there in the form of podcasts, YouTube channels and blogs. If you want to learn how to sell marketing funnels you are looking at THE #1 website in the world for selling marketing funnels to customers.
Spend some time learning what you want to grow.
Share what you learn with others
Here’s the counterintuitive and tricky part. You are going to not only share what you have learnt with others, but you’re also going to share what you’ve been doing with others.
For example if you’re looking to start with Facebook advertising, let’s say that you’ve just watched a load of Miles Beckler videos (the person to follow for paid Facebook advertising in my opinion). You’ve decided to complete a customer avatar, audience insight and run a few ads. Chances are you’re not going to get everything right straightaway. But this is exactly what you should be sharing.
Document your process and discoveries on starting your new journey with traffic. Share your audience insights and the lessons you’ve learnt from various videos and courses. Share your results, share what’s gone well and share what’s gone wrong.
The more you share on what you are trying to grow will naturally grow the very same thing.
Many people might argue that they don’t know enough to share. I understand this, but what we found is that you’re not claiming to be an expert you’re simply sharing an experience. Yelp, is not full of restaurant critics and food critics or even people who know how to cook. But people are willing to share their experiences in order to help others.
What are you willing to share with others, in order to grow yourself?
