One of James’ most popular blog post types, is his goals and accountability posts.
So in this post, I’m going to explore the goals that I have for 2018, including paying off my mortgage, buying a new car, reaching $1million in sales and running a marathon.
Here’s the kicker. All these goals below are written in a VERY specific manner.
There is a HUGE difference between the goal of £100 000 a year income and I will easily generate £100 000 this year in personal income
Which one of those sounds more doable? It sounds like I’ve already got the £100 000 a year income on the second goal. So I just have to work out how to do it!
Writing goals like this helps me focus and understand what I need to do.
I will easily generate £100 000 this year in personal income
I will easily pay off my entire £207 000 mortgage on my house by generating enough cash to put aside in a separate mortgage payment account
I will comfortably and easily put 10% of all my personal income aside in my Hargreaves Lansdown account, accumulating over £10 000 in savings to invest in stocks and funds
Beaver Funnels will comfortably and quickly and easily attract $1 million in revenue when we launch in 2018
We will find and attract 2000 customers to Beaver Funnels who will gladly pay $497 per year
I have 100 paying coaching members at Sell Your Service who pay $197 per month
I have 2 full time employees helping me with support, customer outreach and content with Beaver Funnels and Sell Your Service
I will easily attract 10 000 YouTube subscribers who are interested in my video content
I have 10 000 email subscribers who are interested in my help
I gladly am no longer the producer of client work
Every week I will review my expenses and dedicate 1 hour to my Xero accounting service
I will enjoy writing 1 great blog post per week on Sell Your Service
I will easily produce one informative and valuable video on YouTube per week, and enjoy doing it
I will publish my second book Universe Fuel
Fitness and health goals
I will happily train for and enjoy running a marathon in 2018
I will gladly find time to train and attend 2 Muay Thai interclub fights
I will find the time to run 3 times a week and I enjoy the running training
I will break a personal best 1 mile run time by running a mile in under 4 minutes
Lifestyle and social goals
I have created a work lifestyle business that allows me to work only 9 months of the year, taking 3 months off to focus on other activities
I will travel for 3 months of the year with Olivia, my partner and see exciting places while both vacationing and working
I will take August, September and October off to focus on non-business related things
I will complete my morning ritual every day for 30 days
I will easily read 1 book a week or listen to 1 audio book a week and love it
I will happily cook at least twice a week at home
I will gladly eat less meat and less process meat/food for 30 days
I will write a non-fiction book that’s been in my head for years and feel SO good when it’s done
Mental and spiritual goals
I will listen more to people and stop trying to advise them
I’ll go easy on myself if I don’t produce or hit my goals
I will learn to forgive a large transgression in my life
I’ll be more tolerant of people and their differences
