April 2018 Goals

April already! Similar to last month in March, it’s around this time of year that people start to slack off on their goals, or lower their goals because they realise they’re not making the progress they wanted.

Writing down my goals every month for the world to see, has been an extremely interesting and humbling process. It seems like I’m always busy and doing things, however I’m not making headway on some of the goals that I expected.

Sometimes things seem to take longer than expected. It’s at these moments that we have to remember to keep working towards our goals and that setbacks and roadblocks are just part of the journey.

It’s also around this time, that I have to remind myself of my yearly goals. It can be easy to create goals month-to-month without remembering that you have a longer term gameplan.

I’ve also got a march goal review at the end of the post to talk through what did and didn’t happen, and why.

1. I will sell 10 certifications via a sales webinar

What is it?

Last month I had the goal to sell 10 certifications (from our flagship course) via a sales webinar. I ended up turning the webinar into a pure content webinar, rather than trying to sell at the end of the webinar, because I wanted some remarketing material.

Also, the content of the webinar didn’t really match the course/certification topic. This month I have a new webinar topic which closer matches our certification topics.

Why is this important?

If I can sell 10 certifications at $1497 that puts us over our monthly targets. It’s also important that I actively demonstrate how we can help our audience. Something I think I’m very bad at is telling people all of the different programs and methods we have to help funnel builders. And it’s something I need to get better at.

How am I planning on doing it?

Just like all our other webinars, I need to set up a squeeze page, thank you page and of course write the sales content. As well of course the webinar content. The squeeze pages, thank you pages and reminder emails all follow a process now, which I should probably record for our processes and for our YouTube channel.

When will it be complete?

I’ll build the squeeze page and thank you page by the end of this week. I’ll also written the promotional emails this week.

I will try to build a remarketing campaign for the live webinar to our list and get that complete by next week.

I want to build the webinar and post webinar follow up series the week after and set that on automation.

Who is involved?

In order to make 10 sales I need to have around hundred registrants. Assuming a 10% conversion rate.

It’ll be much easier to sell to current customers, which is why I’ll be focusing on splinter customers, or previous webinar attendees.

2. We will easily make 100 Beaver Funnel sales at $497

What is it?

This is an ongoing goal of ours to generate and attract 100 Beaver Funnel sales. Our focus is to sell the $497 unlimited package, with the majority of our current customers buying the single license.

Why is this important?

One of our goals is to generate $1 million through Beaver Funnels. This requires 2000 sales at $497.

How am I planning on doing it?

One of the pieces of feedback we’ve received from our audience and our customers, is that they’d like to see more product demos and support. We have a hypothesis that if we were to offer a “lite” Version, which would be free, we would see more people downloading the free version that we could then upsell into the unlimited version.

We believe that most people are buying the single licence in order to test out before upgrading to the unlimited version.

There are 101 things that we could be doing in order to upgrade sales. The method that I’m planning on using, is reaching out and having conversations with every single one of our customers. I want to find out what’s stopping them from upgrading to the full version.

We’ll also put in place a webinar to talk through the benefits of the unlimited version. As well as starting a remarketing campaign and creating a few more product demo videos.

When will it be complete?

This is an on going goal and clearly something that I overestimated in the first place. Ultimately the goal is to make 100 Beaver Funnel sales per month. At the moment with sitting between 20 and 25 sales per month. So clearly I need to ramp up the amount of activity we have.

Who is involved?

We’ve taken on a new member of our team to help with many of our marketing activitiesit also means that Mitch our developer will have a lot more work to do with his team when it comes to building our features. Many of the sales calls and marketing collateral will come from myself whereas the financial management will come from Mark.

3. I will sell 10 audio workshop sales

What is it?

I have a new tripwire or splinter product that I’m very excited about. It’s called Get More Done Every Day and Enjoy Doing It. It’s a three-part audio workshop that focuses on setting goals, productivity and motivation. It comes with a series of worksheets and is designed to help the listener achieve more every single day, know their direction and focus and enjoy doing it.

It’s an information product that would be downloaded and accessed after a $47 payment, for lifetime use.

Why is this important?

We’ve got a very clear audience now at sell your service with close to 5000 funnel builders across various channels. It’s important that I listen to them on what their struggles are and what they want to achieve. Therefore this audio program is a important part of our product offering.

It’s designed to be used by funnel builders (or anyone for that matter) that wants to feel more productive, be more motivated and not just achieve their goals, but actually understand what their goals are in the first place.

How am I planning on doing it?

The audio program is already recorded and edited, I’ve created a video here talking through the sales and marketing automation that will use to sell the product.

While only a small gold to start with, an extra $500 a month isn’t to be sniffed at. The idea is that if I can generate 10 sales in one month I can then automate 10 sales in future.

When will it be complete?

I’ll have the delivery page finished by the end of this week. I need to finalise the worksheet design as I want them to be downloaded. We are also thinking about getting the audio transcribed. Ultimately I want to have sold 10 audio workshops by the end of the month.

Who is involved?

As I might be hiring a graphic designer to take care of the worksheets, a large part of the project management rely on me making it happen.

4. I will land a book publishing deal

What is it?

We are currently working on a book publishing deal with a legitimate publisher for one of my books. I want to land the deal, get paid full advance and negotiate a royalties payment.

Why is this important?

Self publishing my first book was a huge deal for me. It taught me a lot about the publishing process, as well asHow to market and sell a book. However landing a publishing deal with a larger scale publisher would help me which a wider audience.

How am I planning on doing it?

Stay humble, repeatedly remind myself that I’m here to serve an audience and help people rather than inflate my own ego. As long as I stay true to myself, there should be no problem in finding and finalising a book publishing deal.

When will it be complete?

I would like to have confirmation and contracts signed by the end of the month, as well as an advance fee paid into my account before the end of April.

Who is involved?

Myself and the publisher. I’m sure our release names and links as soon as the deal goes through.

5. I will reach 1000 engaged email subscribers

What is it?

While our email list is already larger than a thousand subscribers, I’d like to increase the engagement levels of the list to a thousand subscribers. At the moment, it’s sitting just shy of 900.

Why is this important?

This is incredibly important to me because having 1000 engaged email subscribers has been a goal of mine for a long time. Through regular blogging, content, outreach and social media work. I’ve built an email list from scratch.

The law of compounding states that the larger the sum I have of subscribers, the easier it is to continue growing that subscriber base.

For example growing an email list 8% month on month from 10 subscribers would only yield you another one subscriber a month. But growing a list 8% month on month from 1000 subscribers gives me another 80 subscribers every month.

How am I planning on doing it?

Keep doing what I’m doing. Continue writing blog content, offering useful resources and guides and communicating with them every single day.

When will it be complete?

I’d like to reach 1000 engaged email subscribers before the end of April. Which means trying to drive and increase of over 10%.

Who is involved?

Me, my subscribers and the potential to share useful resources and information with 100 new people.

March Goals Review

1. 10 certification sales via webinar

What is it?

We have our flagship certification program available and I’ll be promoting that on our call at the end of March. We have a free webinar on Finding A Niche For Your Funnel Business on 29th March that we’ll show and demonstrate the certification on.

What happened?

As I mentioned above, we ended up skipping thesales portion for that webinar. The webinar was well attended and people were very engaged, but it wasn’t the right platform to try and sell this particular certification.

2. 100 Beaver Funnel sales

What is it?

Beaver Funnels is our funnel building plugin for WordPress and Beaver Builder. I want March to generate 100 sales at $497 per sale which would attract $49700 for our business.

What happened?

March didn’t see 100 sales for Beaver funnels, but we are now over $1000 per week in revenue. I might have overestimated how many sales we can drive, but we are not far off that number I just need to increase our activities.

3. $10 o00 revenue through Sell Your Service

What is it?

Generating $10k per month has been our goal from the start. Combining the coaching membership and individual sales, we want to build our revenue to $10 000 per month.

What happened?

We missed this by quite a margin, particularly as we didn’t make our certifications for sale on a webinar. However we are sitting at around $6000 per month in recurring revenue. Not including book sales, core sales, splinter products or other passive revenue.

4. Book August trip to America

What is it?

We want to spend the month of August in Montana with my business partner and a couple of other friends. We might also put on a small workshop for anyone in the area who wants to learn more about building a better business.

What happened?

We decided to book a trip around September 2018. We just need to finalise flight details. We also are planning on holding a live event, more details will follow soon.

5. Meditate every day, learn every week

What is it?

I want to wake up every morning (Saturdays and Sundays included) and meditate for 15-20 minutes. I feel the benefits when I do it, but unless it’s a habit that’s done every day, it doesn’t stack up. I also want to continue to commit to learning by reading, courses, seminars and webinars every week. Monday is my day to learn and strategise – nothing else.

What happened?

This is actually much harder than I realised. While I did have a few meditation “streaks”. It’s very easy to not spend 10 or 15 minutes meditating every single day.

I have definitely put aside time every single Monday to dedicate to learning. Monday mornings are learning only time, after I write my content.

But this was a big eye-opener to me, to show just how difficult it is to keep up and start a new habit.
