Is Your Business Actually Making You Miserable?

Even with a thriving business, it’s possible to feel unfulfilled, trapped, or even miserable.

I know because I was once in that position myself.

Imagine sitting on a balcony in Mexico, looking out over the sparkling ocean, yet feeling utterly exhausted and on the verge of giving it all up.

The hustle, the pressure, the endless demands—it all became too much, and my so-called “success” felt like a prison.

Why does this happen?

Often, it’s because we get caught up in a relentless drive for results, missing the deeper purpose of what we’re doing.

Alfred Adler, a psychologist from the 1900s, believed that true happiness comes from feeling like we’re making a meaningful contribution.

If our efforts don’t align with a meaningful purpose, burnout isn’t far behind.

Reflecting on that beach in Mexico, I realised I needed to change how I approached my work.

I decided to refocus, to choose projects that aligned with my purpose.

It’s a choice to be intentional with your time and energy, investing in work that brings satisfaction, not just profits.

Have you ever questioned if your work is truly meaningful?
