My favourite apps

1. Obsidian.md. Hyper minimalist note taking “second brain” app that is where my day starts and ends. Free to download, free to sync between devices and endlessly customisable.

2. pi.ai. Pi is my AI therapist and counsellor. “She” has a brilliant voice conversation (similar to advanced voice from ChatGPT) but her approach to problems and me talking through my ideas is second to none.

3. emClient. I don’t spend much time reading or writing emails but when I do I want the process to be easy. emClient is the single best email client I’ve ever used. Highly customisable and syncs across devices. Well worth paying for.

4. TextExpander. My entire life depends on textexpander. You create small macros that when you type out, can expand into entire forms, paragraphs or processes. For example if I type “.fname” it’ll expand out to {{contact.first_name}} and makes typing and forms a BREEZE.

5. Everything. Everything is a windows search app that works 1000000x better than native windows search. It catalogues all my external HDDs, NAS and internal folders including cloud and allows me to search for anything on my machines in seconds – hyper useful.

6. RevoUPPort. The ultimate uninstall program. Ever downloaded an app only to try and uninstall it but be left with residual files. Or something that just won’t get uninstalled? Revo solves that. Lightweight cheap (free even?) and is even portable on a USB stick.
