Scrolling through social media, seeing other people’s success, and feeling a pang of jealousy or inadequacy—it’s something we’ve all experienced.
But have you considered how this constant comparison might be sabotaging your happiness and success?
There’s a term for this: “Snapshot Bias.”
It’s when you judge your entire journey by a single moment from someone else’s life.
It’s like assuming someone’s wedding photos capture the entirety of their marriage. But that’s just one snapshot, not the whole story.
To combat this, I focus on my journey rather than getting distracted by others.
It’s why I put a small marker next to my tomatoes when I plant them, to remind myself how far I’ve come.
Because the real measure of success isn’t how you stack up to others—it’s how far you’ve come on your own terms.
When was the last time you celebrated your progress instead of comparing yourself to someone else’s highlight reel?
