I haven’t worked out or exercised in the last couple of months.
Which for me, is a problem, because I’m a 5-6 days a week kind of person. Often 1-2 hours a day.
But, I also have a very low immune system. Which means I get sick very easily and often for long periods of time.
This morning however was the first time in weeks I’ve been able to do any kind of exercise.
I thought I’d be raring to go.
In fact, while I was excited. I was also nervous.
It was a little overwhelming, because I know what my goals are, and now they feel almost out of reach.
But the key I realised, isn’t aiming for the goal.
It’s the smallest possible action.
In this case, just putting my trainers on.
I literally don’t think about anything else. I block it all.
I just get that smallest possible action done.
And then, once that’s done. I just get on the rower.
Starting up again is hard work.
Sometimes it’s harder than starting from scratch.
But the smallest, easiest, most achievable action is a good place to start.
