How to get 100,000 views

There is a formula to creating content that gets 100,000’s of views.

I’ve used this exact framework loads of times and it does me wonders.

It helps me focus on what’s important AND it prevents bad ideas from seeping through the cracks.

Most of the time.

And it throws out EVERYTHING you know about content creation.

I know that one good video, post, blog, article, webinar or podcast could transform my business.

We start with an idea, or a topic.

I’ll spend hours thinking of hundreds of ideas that I think would be eye catching, juicy, attention grabbing and clickable.

It all starts with the idea.

Maybe my audience is “home gym supply companies” and I know their biggest problem is finding more “whale” clients.

So a topic might be “how home gym installer companies can land 5 whale clients that spend over $10,000 on their home gym”.

With the price of steel nowadays, that’s one kettlebell and a carabina.

Now that title is WAY to long, obviously.

It’s not a bad offer.

But we need a clear, clickable, juicy title.

So I’ll answer these questions.

What would be an ideal comment for this video?

Why would someone watch this video?

What evidence do I have that this video could do well?

What’s my goal for this video?

Could I charge $5 for this video?

I’ll answer each question. If you’re writing blogs, replace the word video with blog.

If you’re doing a podcast, webinar, post, etc. Just replace the word with whatever medium you’re using.

Usually, before long, I’ll have a list of amazing ideas to come up with a clear, short powerful title.

And because I produce video, I’ll create a thumbnail first too.

You read that right.

I create the idea, title and thumbnail WAY before I create the video.

I do it this way round because people DO judge a book by its cover.

Here’s an example of one I did a while back:

What would be an ideal comment for this video?

Man this speaks to me so much. I was so sure that I was doing everything wrong, I needed to see this

Just want to say I watched this 6 months ago and it changed my life – thank you Mike

All the zoomer bro marketers out there desperate no one sees this video

Thank you for more “real” authentic content

Why would someone watch this video?

We celebrate youth and I think people want to feel that they still have something to offer the world. It can feel like everything has moved on so fast but I want to show people that actually they have a lot to offer and heres a plan on how to compete.

Sick of younger rich people. Feel bad about their situation. Want to know they’re not alone

What evidence do I have that this video could do well?

People related to my video about rich scammer kids

What’s my goal for this video?

Viral spread – wide. Outside my niche

Could I charge $5 for this video?

Probably not

Trust me on this – think of the comments you want and brainstorm as many titles as you can for everything you do.

Spend less time on the content and more time on the “hook”.
