Yearly goal setting

Enough.

Please.

We get it. Time marches on.

Just…try to march on a little less.

It’s around this time that my yearly goals have already gone out the window.

My detailed plan for the year ahead is already way behind schedule and I’ve totally lost track of all the tasks I wanted to get done.

But that is 100% ok.

It’s usually a sign that I’m trying to do too many things.

In fact, I’ve already taken the decision to kill one of our products, because it was taking too much attention away from my core focus.

I have ONE goal for 2024, and that’s to double our revenue from last year.

I think people get confused between yearly GOAL setting and yearly TASK setting.

Because what we should be spending time on, thinking about, is asking “What is the absolute #1 priority for me and the business this year?”

Note: if you have 3 priorities, you have none.

It’s too easy to think of all the stuff you want to get done. Especially in a year.

“Most people overestimate what they can do in one year and underestimate what they can do in ten years.”
-Bill Gates

Imagine what the single BIGGEST roadblock is in your life and business, and what the impact would be if you crushed that goal.

Just one.

What most people try to do is fit 5 year goals into one year and do them all.

But instead, what about if you dedicated all your time and resources to one goal. One accomplishment.

And if you did that for 10 years in a row?

Can you imagine how far you’d progress?

If you feel your yearly plan has already gone out the window, it might be a sign that you don’t even have ONE clear priority goal for the year.
