No such thing as a million dollar idea

Million dollar ideas are a dime-a-dozen.

Million dollar execution is worth its weight in gold.

My friend and past mentor, Miles Beckler, used to have a saying:

“There’s no such thing as a million dollar idea, just million dollar execution.”

I have seen people with mediocre, middle of the road ideas absolutely CRUSH their goals, because they focused on execution.

  • All I need is one good idea!
  • I just need one great idea
  • What’s the best niche to go into?
  • What’s the next million dollar trend?

Those are classic self-limiting beliefs that we place on ourselves, because it’s what we’ve been taught or what we think we’ve seen.

For every Slap-Chop, there’s a Juciero. For every Flappy Bird, there’s a Quiby.

Million dollar ideas are a myth – they don’t exist.

And I can promise you, for every success that looks like it was just a “really good idea”, it had years (even decades) of work behind it.

Flex tape had DECADES behind it, before it hit the big time.

Trunky was famously turned down by investors (including Dragons Den).

I would much rather take a boring, old idea that has been tested dozens of times and just EXECUTE it better over and over.

A standard marketing agency but we bring all our customers together into a community.

A marketing course but we show how to do 60% conversion landing pages rather than 40% (can you imagine how powerful your course is if you increase conversions by 20%?!).

Email marketing but we jump on a call and interview you to write it.

The list is endless.

Million dollar ideas are fine – but without million dollar execution, it’s worth absolutely nothing.
