How can you live not knowing how much you’re going to earn?
How can you live knowing how much you’re going to earn?
The idea that someone else can cap how much I’ll earn, based on what they think is valuable, is crazy to me.
I’d rather eat shit for 10 years working for myself, than earn 6 figures working for someone else.
The funny thing, is NOW I have no END of people asking to work with/for me.
Even people who either fired me in the past or didn’t give me a shot because they were “ahead” of me in the career game.
Funny old world.
Isn’t it risky running a business?
Sure is. So is having a job.
The idea of “job security” is no more real than security with your pension or savings (which is a whole other question).
In my lifetime, before I was 25, I was made redundant twice.
During our 30’s my wife was made redundant 3 times. Once when I was literally about to go through chemotherapy.
Job security doesn’t exist. Company loyalty doesn’t exist.
And speaking of pensions?
The people taking your money and “investing” it in pension funds, chosen by your company, are no more informed on where to put your money than a COIN flip.
Multiple studies have shown that pension investors and investment bankers are wrong over 50% of the time. Which means YOU flipping a COIN is a better guess of whether an investment will grow.
The idea of someone else managing my money, forever, for the sake of reading a few books – terrifies me.
I’d love to start a business too, would you want to partner with me?
Absolutely not.
And yes, you should take that personally.
I know how much time, sweat, sleepless nights, and stress starting a business is. Running a business is like that, but 10X worse.
And the truth is that you just haven’t cut your teeth yet.
I have no idea how you’ll handle money worries.
What you’ll do when your 3rd red letter telling you that you’re overdue comes through the door.
What happens when all your customers leave within a week, and you have salaries to pay.
I don’t care how good your idea is or how “passionate” you are.
Running a business is 1% good ideas and 99% execution.
This sounds harsh, but that’s my point.
I think you SHOULD run a business, but if you’re going to collapse at the first hurdle of me telling you I’m not interested, you’re in for a long hard time.
How can you charge so much for working with you? I’d never pay that much…
$1000 for a 45 minute consultation call?
$25,000 for our group coaching programme?
I could do the maths and talk about expenses and investments.
But the truth is that I can charge this much because I want to and I don’t mind upsetting people who don’t want to pay that much.
You have a hard time imagining charging people that much because you would never be comfortable telling people a number like that.
You say you’d never spend that much, and yet you buy TONS of shit that I think is way overpriced.
I can charge what you make in a year, for a month’s work, because I believe I can. It’s that simple.
And I don’t mind if people dislike me because of it.
My friend has a business, can they pick your brains?
Yes, of course. For the same price I mentioned above.
