I was wrong about Clickfunnels

Previously when I’ve spoken about Clickfunnels, and my aversion to using them, it was based around 2 core ideas.

  1. I don’t like all my eggs in one basket
  2. I’m not a massive fan of Russell and his team

Now the sheer AUDACITY of saying I don’t like all my eggs in one basket, when I now heavily promote HighLevel, might seem like politician level hypocrisy.

And yes, to some extent, it is.

But there’s something that changed in me a few years back that made me feel much more comfortable moving EVERYTHING over to HighLevel.

I have to speak a little carefully, because 1) I don’t want to attack anyone personally and 2) Dave Woodward who interviewed me a few times died in 2022, and regardless of views and what happened, may he rest in peace.

I’m not a huge fan of Russell based on some past businesses that he’s run. That’s about it really.

And so, I’m unlikely to love any software that he created/promotes.

But remember, I also don’t like AppSumo, Apple, or the BBC so I’m not targeting him alone.

But the cold hard reality is that while 5 years ago or 10 years ago, putting your email, websites, and funnels into one platform IS putting all your eggs in one basket – the number of eggs you’ve got now has RAPIDLY expanded.

EVERYONE is an influencer now.

Everyone has a podcast, a YouTube channel, a Facebook page, a Facebook profile, Instagram, Vero, X-formally-known-as-Twitter, Snapchat, TikTok, a blog, interviews, courses, coaching programs, books…

And that’s GREAT.

Because it means that a core part of your business can be managed with one app now without feeling like you really are putting all your eggs in one basket.

No, I don’t like that CF doesn’t offer WordPress hosting.

No I don’t like that CF is clunky, slow and doesn’t have a full CRM.

No, I don’t like that I can’t offer unlimited accounts to my customers and create my own SaaS like HighLevel does.

But it’s not just that.

Because HighLevel have repeatedly shown me that the agency is important to their model.,

They want my agency to be a success, so they enable me to have as many clients as I want.

I used to be deep into the ActiveCampaign toolset as well.

I even used to consult them on how their clients can attract more clients.

But repeatedly, it was clear that their focus was small businesses (and that’s fine), but I wanted to work with agencies who have small businesses as THEIR clients.

Ultimately the best tool to use is the one you’re using.

Don’t listen to me or any other internet marketer – listen to your clients.
