Ever wondered why you can’t just get things done?
Let me share something with you that’s more powerful than any to-do list or planner.
Picture this: A freezing, dark winter’s morning, rain lashing down like it’s got a vendetta.
And there I am, about to do lunges.
Yes, you read right.
I was training to set a world record: 5 kilometres of walking lunges.
Imagine the scene: knee to the ground, up again, stride, repeat—thousands of times.
My neighbours? They thought I was off my rocker.
More than one stopped me to ask if I was drunk—or worse.
Embarrassing? You bet.
But let’s get to the good part.
How did I force myself out in the cold, every single day?
I simply put on my trainers.
Sounds daft, doesn’t it?
Yet, that one tiny act flicked a switch in my brain.
Suddenly, I’d think, “Might as well keep going.”
So, how does my lunge saga stop you from procrastinating?
It’s not about the big goals, the planning, or even the willpower.
It’s about taking that first, tiny, almost laughable step.
Do it. Fake it if you must.
Go through the motions and watch as your mindset shifts.
Just like my trainers, your first step will become a mental trigger.
So, what’s your ‘pair of trainers’?
