The Real Reason You’re Stressed

For years, I identified as a high-performing coach—a leader who thrived on efficiency and delivering results.

But when I decided to shut down our coaching company, I had to confront a harsh truth: that identity didn’t make me happy.

Letting go of who I thought I should be allowed me to focus on who I wanted to become.

Here’s the thing about stress: it’s often a result of fighting against reality.

We get stressed when we believe things should be different than they are.

My core philosophy is that the purpose of life is to be at peace and live in harmony with the way things are—nature, in its broadest sense.

Suffering happens when we resist what’s inevitable.

If you’re late to work, stressing about it won’t change a thing.

Accepting it, however, will save you from unnecessary anger.

Most of our stress comes from battling against what is.

And when you’ve faced real hardship, like a brush with death or losing a loved one, you realise that most of the things we stress over don’t really matter.

It’s all about perspective.

So, how much of your stress is coming from resisting reality?
