Oh yeah – I landed a book deal. May 2018 Goals

May 2018 kicked off while we were in Salzburg, which was a great trip AND a wonderful way to see how my  business automations worked out.

As I write this, I’m in the middle of a forest in a villa with a few friends, their kids and Liv. I’ve had a wonderful chance to reflect upon what I want out of life, the business and how I’m going to grow the business.

A deer outside our villa. All that’s missing is an apple and a Disney Princess

From that, the 5 goals below are still very related to my 2018 goals but might be more strategic than tactical.

1. Run the May webinar to help people discover what they want from life

What is it?

60-90 minute webinar with brand new training content teaching people how to understand what they want out of life.

Why is this important?

This webinar is the culmination of a years worth of internal training, reading, courses and coaching. It’s everything I know about discovering your purpose in life.

How am I planning on doing it?

We’ve got a brand new slide deck and training format. I’ll be testing it on this new webinar and converting the content into sales automation content.

When will it be complete?

Zoom call, 6pm 31st May UK time.

Who is involved?

Me, 200 attendees and 300 sign ups.

2. Hire 12 coaches for the next 12 months of coaching (one coach a month)

What is it?

One week a month I want to hire an external coach to take one of our coaching calls. It’ll free me up to work on more strategic parts of the business and begin to scale my time.

Why is this important?

First, I need new blood and new ideas into the business. We have the resources to hire a coach a month and it makes for a great addition to our content.

How am I planning on doing it?

Reach out to the funnel builders, marketers and automation experts who have something cool to teach people.

When will it be complete?

I’ll have 12 coaches lined up for 2018 – 2019 by the end of the month

Who is involved?

Me, and 12 other coaches.

3. Coaching sales page

What is it?

We have a coaching sales page, but it’s a little long and outdated. I want to update the coaching sales page to position our new coaching to visitors and leads.

Why is this important?

Frankly, it does make sales and conversions but they’re so low it might as well not. I want to take what I’ve learned from out calls and translate that into a better sales page.

How am I planning on doing it?

  • Write the sales letter
  • Build a sales page
  • Build a sales letter page
  • 2 video sales letters

When will it be complete?

End of May 2018

Who is involved?

Me and possibly a page designer

4. Automate our content – coaching process

What is it?

A friend and colleague of mine, Paul Foster gave me a wonderful idea to transcribe all our coaching calls and offer them to our coaching clients. He then went one further and suggested I cut the content back into blog post formats and publish them. Furiously obvious and something I should have been doing.

Why is this important?

We have over 60 minutes a week of coaching and it’s mad that it all goes to waste. I need to offer the transcriptions (and audio versions) to our coaching clients and then offer cut down versions to our blog. Otherwise it’s just sitting there. It also will help me scale my content creation.

How am I planning on doing it?

THIS is a very good question. I think I’ll take 3 piece and transcribe them, then send them to an editor to change the content. I reckon I can do this for under $100 per post.

When will it be complete?

I want the process written up and documented/tested before the end of May.

Who is involved?

Me, the editor, a transcription service and the blog readers.

5. New cold traffic Facebook ads campaign

What is it?

We’ve been running a few FB campaigns and it’s time we drove more cold traffic to our squeeze pages and blog posts. It’s time to start building up our remarketing audience.

Why is this important?

I’d love to test my campaigns every week, adjusting the audiences and building new audiences whenever I can. Our sales process is pretty tight and it’d be good to open up the top of the funnel.

How am I planning on doing it?

  • Build 30 custom audiences based on single interests.
  • Write the blog post ad copy
  • Write the landing page ad copy
  • Build the campaigns and copy them across audiences

When will it be complete?

End of May.

Who is involved?

Me and Facebook (I’ll call Mark).

April Goals Review

1. I will sell 10 certifications via a sales webinar

What is it?

Last month I had the goal to sell 10 certifications (from our flagship course) via a sales webinar. I ended up turning the webinar into a pure content webinar, rather than trying to sell at the end of the webinar, because I wanted some remarketing material.

Also, the content of the webinar didn’t really match the course/certification topic. This month I have a new webinar topic which closer matches our certification topics.

What happened?

Sliiiiight change of plans here. We ran a webinar “how to find your first marketing funnel customer” (replay here) at the end of April and we ended up changing the offer.

Instead we offered the $197 weekly coaching program at the end. The bad news is we still don’t have any sales automation for the certifications. The good news is that we sold 10 coaching packages at $197 a month so I’m very happy.

2. We will easily make 100 Beaver Funnel sales at $497

What is it?

This is an ongoing goal of ours to generate and attract 100 Beaver Funnel sales. Our focus is to sell the $497 unlimited package, with the majority of our current customers buying the single license.

What happened?

We ARE getting there, but this didn’t happen in one month. We’ve got a big JV launch coming soon and our recent hires to our team are proving wonderfully productive.

3. I will sell 10 audio workshop sales

What is it?

I have a new tripwire or splinter product that I’m very excited about. It’s called Get More Done Every Day and Enjoy Doing It. It’s a three-part audio workshop that focuses on setting goals, productivity and motivation. It comes with a series of worksheets and is designed to help the listener achieve more every single day, know their direction and focus and enjoy doing it.

It’s an information product that would be downloaded and accessed after a $47 payment, for lifetime use.

What happened?

We launched the audio workshops late. But we did launch at least (available here). We’ve made around 10 sales, but not using the process we wanted. We’ve got a webinar this month to sell en-mass and to create some content to sell on automation.

4. I will land a book publishing deal

What is it?

We are currently working on a book publishing deal with a legitimate publisher for one of my books. I want to land the deal, get paid full advance and negotiate a royalties payment.

What happened?

Very very happy with this one. I signed the book deal and we’re in the process of editing. Over the moon with this as I didn’t believe it was real until the details came through.

5. I will reach 1000 engaged email subscribers

What is it?

While our email list is already larger than a thousand subscribers, I’d like to increase the engagement levels of the list to a thousand subscribers. At the moment, it’s sitting just shy of 900.

What happened?

So technically we DID reach 1000 subscribers. However they’re split over a couple of lists, so it’s closer to 950 and 250 with a combined total of around 1020 (both lists share subscribers). I’m going to also take a look at our re-engagement automation because it seems to be a little gung-ho about unsubscribing people.
