Without question, the #1 thing I love about running a business is the freedom to do what I want, how I want.
Some months there was no money in the bank.
There are days so stressful I get close to quitting the whole thing.
There’s uncertainty and risk and I’ve made some HUGE mistakes.
But through it all, the ability to work how I want, when I want, and with what I want is something I’d never ever give up.
And now it’s come full circle.
I do a few hours of work a week. I never feel “tired” or exhausted.
Our bank balance is healthy, I’m saving and I’ve paid off debts.
That is TRUE freedom.
Because with a traditional career or job, the better you do, the harder you work.
Proven yourself to your manager? Great! Have some more responsibilities.
I’m writing this after going for a walk, taking a plunge in my new ice bath, and taking my wife for a sea swim.
We had bacon sandwiches for lunch.
Literally, no one is questioning where I am, or how “productive” I’m being.
Running a business means giving up control of a LOT of things.
But it’s afforded me more freedom than I could have ever imagined.
It drives me crazy.
But I wouldn’t change it for the world.
