Want more customers? Then focus on THIS

You’re stressed because you want customers – getting more customers won’t help.

Maybe you think that if you had more customers, that your life would be easier?

I’m telling you that it 100% will not.

If anything, more customers is the LAST thing you need.

When I was very very ill in 2021, I had to take the entire year off.

Chemotherapy, multiple surgeries, time in and out of hospital.

Even if I wanted to work, I physically couldn’t.

But I didn’t have to shut the business down.

If anything, it did better without me.

(An insultingly clear indicator of my management style).

And what’s hilarious.

Even upsetting.

Is that as soon as I stopped focusing on getting customers and selling and finding clients…

You see, Clarence has been with me for years. She’s our editor and she’s really good at it.

When she joined Sell Your Service she came on board as an online specialist and VA.

Jha joined too and Clarence moved to her current editing role.

Jha got up to speed and is now basically the head of finance and admin.

The business doesn’t run without Jha.

And we had Kate, who loves our customers and members and is a phenomenal coach.

And I realised that the goal isn’t to build a company that relies on how great I am.

The goal is to build a company built on great people.

Anyone can build a company where customers are desperate to buy.

I want to build a company where people are desperate to work.

That, to me, seems like a way better, longer term goal.

Imagine finding someone who loves what you do and is BETTER at it than you?

When we like being here, we do better work.

And that attracts more customers – faster than anything.

And when we sign new clients, the workload doesn’t stress me or break me.

If anything, it gets easier the more clients we sign.

The biggest lie told to entrepreneurs is that the business lives and dies by their skills. That their customers are only buying because of them.

Yes, you as the business owner should be and will be the best possible salesperson for your company.

But the delivery will absolutely be done BETTER by other people.

And if other people want to work with you more than anywhere else, they’ll deliver the best possible experience to your customers.

I don’t look for customers because my team does all the heavy lifting, both directly and indirectly.
