Ever made a deal you instantly regretted?

I once landed a high-profile client, a celebrity with a big name in our industry.

He had everything—TV appearances, a best-selling book, and major influence.

But when it came to my fee, he pushed for a discount, and against my better judgement, I agreed.

The moment I accepted his deposit, everything changed.

He became a nightmare to work with—demanding instant results while being unreachable for weeks.

It got so bad that he even messaged me on my wedding day and during my honeymoon.

His wife was shocked, but when I confronted him, he barely acknowledged he crossed a line and continued to insist on constant availability.

All this stress for a client paying well below my worth.

The lesson?

Never compromise on your price or qualifications.

Since then, I’ve made it a rule to avoid working with celebrities altogether.

Every time I’ve broken this rule, it’s ended the same—chaos.

So, what hard lessons have you learned about sticking to your value?
