Why I walked away from my successful coaching business

In 2022, I started realising that I was unhappy with how my business was running.

It wasn’t because of the people or my team.

For whatever reason, running a coaching company just wasn’t fulfilling anymore.

I’d been at it for months, but the hardest part wasn’t the work—it was accepting a truth I didn’t want to admit to myself.

It’s like when a stand-up comedian tells a joke that hits a little too close to home.

You cringe because deep down, you know it’s true, but you’re not ready to face it.

For me, the challenge wasn’t in shifting the business model.

That part was relatively straightforward.

We changed our focus, revamped our content, adjusted our strategy, and yes, our revenue took a hit.

But I knew that in the long run, this was the direction I needed to go.

The real struggle was accepting that I wasn’t happy with where I was in the business.

It’s like realising you’re not happy in a relationship—it’s tough to admit.

But once I did, everything started to make sense.

I had to confront the uncomfortable truth that I wasn’t enjoying what I was doing anymore.

And yes, it felt like failure, like quitting.

But here’s the reality: it’s okay to quit and it’s okay to fail.

Now, I’m far happier because I made the decision to move into a different field.

The biggest shift wasn’t in the tactics or the work; it was in accepting that it was time to change course.

Sometimes, the hardest part of change is simply acknowledging that it’s what you need.

Have you ever faced an uncomfortable truth in your business?
